Effective with the October 2013 tax billing cycle, the Williamson County Trustee’s office is responsible for the billing and collection of all City of Brentwood property taxes as well as administering state and local tax relief programs. In early October of each year, a combined tax notice reflecting both City and County property taxes is mailed to property owners as recorded by deed on January 1 of that taxing year. If you do not receive a notice by the end of October, please notify the Williamson County Trustee Office. Current calendar year property taxes are due and payable without penalty or interest from October 1 of the current year through February 28 of the next calendar year. Penalty and interest will be added to any delinquent taxes at a rate of 1.5% per month after February 28.

MONTHLY COST OF SERVICE ANALYSIS FOR RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY TAXES
Please find here an analysis showing the monthly property tax “bill” for all general fund services and expenditures based on appraised home value.
For example, a person living in a home appraised at $500,000 would pay $550.00 in annual property taxes to the City of Brentwood, or $45.83 per month. If you distribute this monthly payment across all of the various general fund services provided by the City, the analysis shows that this person would pay less than $18.00 per month combined for Police ($9.01) and Fire ($8.90) protection. They would pay a little over $3.00 per month for a world class Library and slightly less than $3.00 per month for almost 1,000 acres of city parks, trails, etc.
Most people can more easily compare the value of a service or product when they think about it in terms of a monthly amount and compare it to other monthly expenses such as mobile phone bills, cable TV bill, garbage collection bill, etc. This analysis shows that residents of Brentwood are receiving good value for their property tax dollars.
