Property Tax

The City of Brentwood Tax Collector’s office is responsible for the collection of all city property taxes including personal and public utilities tax. The City tax year runs from January 1 to December 31 of the current year.

Current calendar year property taxes are due and payable without penalty or interest from October 1 of the current year through February 28 of the next calendar year. Penalty and interest will be added, starting March 1st and each month thereafter at 1% penalty and 1% interest. Penalty and interest will continue to accrue the first of every month, up to 12 months. All unpaid real estate taxes are turned over to the Williamson County Clerk and Master’s Office for collection 12 months after the February 28 date.

Property tax assessments are made by the Williamson County Property Assessor and certified to the State of Tennessee. City taxes are figured based on these assessments. If a property owner has questions regarding their assessment, they should contact the Williamson County Property Tax Assessor’s office at 615-790-5708.
