COLLEGE PLANNING:  YOUR KEY TO SUCCESS

The Brentwood Library is partnering with Spann College Planning Consultants to bring complimentary workshops that will help guide students successfully through the college admissions maze, helping them find the college or university that will be the best “fit” for them. In the current competitive and often stressful climate, they assist students and families at each step of the way, from early high school curriculum planning to college search to application and essay “do’s” and “don’ts” to final enrollment.

Upcoming Sessions are as follows:

January 24: Thinking About College: It’s Never Too Early!

Whether you’re a high school freshman or a spring semester junior, it’s always a good idea to start thinking about your future college plans. Why do you want to go to college? What are your interests, strengths, and goals? Do you need to choose a career or major before you apply to college? The answers to these questions may hold the key to your future, and help you find the “best match” college of your dreams.

February 21: The Path to College

College may seem like a long way off right now, but you can start preparing for the challenge by taking advantage of some great opportunities in high school. We’ll discuss the importance of grades, course selection, testing, extracurricular activities, summer plans, jobs, community service, and artistic and athletic pursuits in relation to your college plans—but you’ll need to take time to relax and have fun, too!
