George Niblet was the Ensign, and William Boanes Sergeant, in Capt. Sloane’s
company.
I entered this company three months preceding the 24th of March 1780, as
will appear by my discharge signed by Capt. Sloan of that date. We were
marched from Iredell under Col. Sharp to South Carolina to Charleston which
the British were about to attack. After serving until the 24th of March
1780; I was discharged as aforesaid which discharge is here exhibited marked
(A).
I was next drafted a second three month tour while living in Iredell County,
N Carolina into Capt. Fletcher’s company attached to Col. Francis Lock’s
regiment. I entered this company three months prior to the 5th of December
1781. We were marched from Iredell County to Salisbury, N Carolina where we
remained guarding the Tories during the whole tour. Gen. Davidson commanded
while we were at Salisbury.
I know of no officers except those stated who were with the troops where I
served. I know of no person in the country who can prove my services as
stated.
I am acquainted with Esgn McCrady, Riley Ragsdale, John Ragsdale and who can
certify to my character for veracity, and their belief of my services in the
Revolutionary War. I have no record of my age, but I recollect pretty well I

I lived after the war in Iredell County, N Carolina until 1812, when I moved
to Williamson County, Tennessee. I was discharged in my second tour on the
