Holds may be placed in person, by telephone or on-line.

To place a hold on-line follow these steps:

Enter Catalog

Search the catalog for the book or audio-visual item you want.

If several listings appear, use the “Details” button to select the preferred
one.

Click on "PLACE HOLD" in the box on the left.

Enter the barcode number from your library card.
-
Select the “Place Hold” box.
-
If "No items qualified for hold" appears, the item is probably not
available for lending (such as reference books).

You can review the holds pending on your account by selecting "My
Account" from the top blue toolbar, then clicking on "Review My Account" and
entering your library card barcode number.

If the item is currently checked out, library staff will telephone you when the
item becomes available. If the item is on the shelf at the time you request it,
within an hour you will receive an e-mail notifying you that it is ready to pick
up.

- Click on "Review My Account" near
the center of the screen.
- Type in the barcode number from your library card and click "Display User
Information".

- Click on "My Account" in the top blue toolbar and enter your
library card number in the Patron Barcode box.
- Click "Renew My Materials" near the center of the screen.
- Type in the barcode number from your library card and click
on the "List Charged Items" button.
- Click on the boxes next to the items that you wish to renew
and then click the "Renew Selected Items" button at the bottom of the page.
- A screen will come up telling how many items were renewed
and how many failed to renew.
- Materials may be renewed only once, for the standard
checkout period.
- Materials cannot be renewed if another person has placed a
hold on the item.
- New Fiction is not available for renewal.

Patrons may borrow up to 20 items at once.

Videos (limit 5per card), DVDs (limit 2 per card), and music DVDs (limit 2
per card) 7 days, one renewal.

Encyclopedias 7 days, no renewals.

New Fiction 2 weeks, no renewals.
-
Software on CD 3 weeks, one renewal.
-
Other fiction and non-fiction books 3 weeks, one renewal.

Books-on-tape and Books-on-CD (limit 5 per card) 3 weeks, one renewal.

Music CDs (limit 5 per card) 3 weeks, one renewal.

Artwork (limit 2 per card) 3 months, one renewal.

The overdue fine is 10 cents per day for all books, audiobooks, CDs and
encyclopedias.

Videos, Interlibrary loans, DVDs and artwork are charged at 50 cents per
day.

Lost or damaged AV cases cost up to $8.00

Please do not include money with items left in the library's bookdrops. Fines must be paid at the front desk.

The library contracts with a collection agency to assist in recovering
long-overdue materials and unpaid fines.

If you lose your receipt and need to know when your books are due, you may call the library and we will look up the information for you.
You may also check your account on the library's website.

Overdue notices are mailed after an item becomes seven days past due. A series of notices is sent if the item is not returned after 14, 21, 45 and 60 days.

A collection agency is under contract with the library to retrieve long-overdue materials (over 60 days) and collect payment of fines or lost book charges,
and an additional $10.00 fee is assessed.

Lost and damaged items are billed to the card-holder at the replacement cost plus a
$5.00 processing fee. A fee is also charge for lost or damaged audio-visual cases.
