our mission

Brentwood Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization chartered in 2002 to solicit contributions in support of the Brentwood Library. The foundation seeks to fund projects as worthy enhancements of the reading room, collections and programs, over and above what the City of Brentwood can provide.

background

The Brentwood Library was established as a city library in 1983 and moved into its current 43,500-square-foot building on Concord Road in 1998. It has been recognized as one of the premier public libraries in Tennessee. It is one of the busiest, as well, with nearly 1,000 visitors daily. The library’s attributes include the award-winning building designed by Nashville architect David Minnigan, a renowned children’s reading room and a 40-acre, park-like setting. The City of Brentwood provides 95 percent of the operating budget.
