Friends' Contributions to the Library

The Friends sponsor book sales four times a year and donate countless hours of volunteer service. All monies from the book sales go directly back into your library! Following are some examples of contributions the Friends have made:
In the Children's Library: The Friends help fund the children's summer reading program, including instructors and performers, supplies, printed materials and prizes. When the library was built, the Friends paid for the murals decorating the walls of the Children's Library.

In the Periodical Reading Room: The Friends funded "The Tree of Knowledge," a metal sculpture hanging over the fireplace.

Technical Support: The Friends have provided funds for extra computers, scanners, software, web page development and other enhancements which help the library stay abreast of changes in technology.

Books and Materials: Thousands of volumes of books and audio-visual materials have been added to the library thanks to contributions from the Friends.

The Friends' Art Gallery: To promote the arts, The Friends arrange with local artists to display their work. Eleven different exhibits are featured annually. Each artist donates a piece of their artwork to the library's circulating art collection for the pleasure of any borrower.

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY showcase DISPLAY

Exhibitors display artwork/collectibles at the Brentwood Library's Friends of the Library Showcase Display in the lobby of the library.  The display is on view at the library for two months.
