Teen Central

The Teen Central area is located in a cozy secluded space behind the main reference desks.

It is  quiet area designed for reading, researching and relaxing. The area was created for teens and by teens.  Members of the Teen Advisory Board shared ideas on how it should look as well as what it should contain.  In this area you will find contest information, countless books, valuable research websites and much more!

GETTING INVOLVED WITH TAB

What is TAB?

TAB is a group of teens working together to make the Brentwood Library a better place for teens.  They write book reviews, and give suggestions for library materials.  They plan future library teen events, and then make them happen.  They promote library awareness in school and the community.  They take time to have fun, build friendships, and eat lots of goodies.

Who are TAB members?

Tab members are 7th-12th grade Williamson County students.

When and where does TAB meet?

Tab meetings are held at the Brentwood Library the 2nd Thursday of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Next meeting:  Thursday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in Meeting Room B.

Why would you want to join TAB?

Benefits from participating in TAB are tremendous!

It gives teens the opportunity to meet and interact with a diverse group of people, learn leadership skills, have a teen voice in the library and community, and it looks great on college and scholarship applications.

Can I get community service hours for school with TAB?

Yes!  You are volunteering your time and thoughts to the library, you can count your participation in TAB as community service.

How can I join?

Membership is open to all Williamson County teens (7th-12th grade).

Any teens interested in participating on the library teen board should contact Amanda Street at 615-371-0090 ext. 811, or click on the following link Teen Board and type your name and phone number in the body of the email to request more information.
