Water Station Replacement Projects:
The purpose of this project is to replace and upsize two of the City's water pumping stations. One located along Murray Lane, across the road from the entrance to Windstone Subdivision and the second at the intersection of Murray Lane and Johnson Chapel Road West.
(Project Update (December 4, 2014):
Work has begun on the replacement of the Murray Lane water station. The site is busy with activity ahead of delivery of the new station which will be scheduled be delivered on Friday, December 5, 2014. Expect traffic delays during this time. The work on installing the second station at the intersection of Murray Lane and Johnson Chapel Rd. West, will begin sometime this spring, 2015.
Annual Water Line Replacement Project 2015 (currently working in Stonehenge):
The purpose of this project is to replace aging water lines as part of the department's efforts to maintain the integrity of the City's water distribution system. The next phase will include replacement of aging 6 inch plastic pipe with new ductile iron pipe along Prince Phillip Cove, Albert Drive, and Ashby Drive.
Project Update (December 4, 2014):
The next phase of the project has been designed and approved by the State. The City is in the process of discussing the project with the neighborhood association. An anticipated construction start date is late February or early March, 2015.
