David Gossett, Fleet Manager
5211 Maryland Way
Brentwood, TN 37027
615-371-2281 Ext. 317
Mr. David Gossett is the department's fleet manager. He maintains all vehicles operated by police personnel including patrol, administrative, and investigator's vehicles. Mr. Gossett is responsible for coordinating scheduled maintenance, repairs, and equipment installation.

The Brentwood Police Department believes in the power of technology and seeks to provide each officer with the best equipment on the market. Each vehicle is outfitted with the latest tools including a laptop computer, a digital video system, moving radar, LED emergency lighting, and siren. In addition, each officer has an AR-15 rifle readily accessible in the passenger compartment. Some patrol cars are equipped with lo-jack tracking devices to assist in locating stolen vehicles.

Police Vehicles
Although the department does not issue "take home" cars, each officer is provided with his or her own individual vehicle. We have been using Dodge Chargers as our patrol vehicles since their introduction in 2006. We currently have a fleet of 48 patrol cars and 18 unmarked vehicles.

In addition to Fleet Maintenance, Mr. Gossett manages all surplus equipment. The department provides all officers with a complete set of new equipment on the date of their hire. This includes badges, uniforms, inclement weather gear, body armor, duty gear, footwear, traffic vest, flashlights, and less lethal weapons. We also issue each officer a S&W M&P 45 pistol, AR-15 rifle, and 12 gauge shotgun. In addition to the initial issue, each officer is given an annual allowance to maintain uniforms and purchase needed equipment.
