Rod Freeman was elected to the City Commission in 2011. Rod received his BA degree in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University in 1973. He played professional basketball for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA in 1973 – 1974. Over the next several years, he worked at First American National Bank, managed a construction supply company and served as Vice President of Marketing for Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company. In 1985, Rod founded Fitness Systems, Inc. and sold it in 1998. He currently is the President of Rocking R Companies, LLC which he founded in 2001.
Rod was born in Anderson, Indiana. He is married to Dinah Holman Freeman. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. Rod and Dinah attend Christ Presbyterian Church where he has served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Mission’s Conference Chairman.
